MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS

How to Measure

The Medium / Large Unisex GingerLead is generally for medium to giant breed dogs (Male or Female). Typically fits FEMALE dogs over 45 lbs and MALE dogs over 60 lbs. Support pad is 5.5″ wide (at the cutout) x 22.5″ long. Straps adjust from 38″ – 60″ long. For tall, lean dogs, consider the Tall size.

Pad Width

Measure from the front of the hind legs, or male genitalia, to the base of the rib cage to determine the support pad width. For barrel chested dogs (i.e. Boxers), downsizing for a narrower pad width is common.

NOTE: Support pad holds it shape and does not bunch up. If 5.5″ seems too wide, order the Small size.

Strap Length

Measure starting where the handle of the GingerLead will rest in your hand (while you are standing upright), continue under your dog’s belly, up the other side, then back to your hand completing the loop. If it measures 37” or less, order the Tall size.

GINGERLEAD STAY ON STRAPS

Stay on Straps are OPTIONAL double sided Velcro strips that cinch the GingerLead straps together allowing the support pad to stay in place when the handle is released. This can be helpful for owners that prefer to leave the GingerLead on their dog giving them independence while going potty, opening a door, etc. Installation required.

OUR INSPIRATION – The experiences helping our 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Ginger, recover from reconstructive hip surgery for severe hip dysplasia, then knee surgery a few years later, was the inspiration for our patented design. The GingerLead harness was a lifesaver again when Ginger was old and needed help up and down stairs, and out for walks.
